ZERMATT, SWITZERLAND – May 25, 2025 — Tragedy has struck the Swiss Alps as five skiers were found dead on the Adler Glacier near Zermatt, one of Switzerland’s most renowned ski resorts.
🚨 Victims Discovered After Search Near Rimpfischhorn Mountain
The discovery was made after two climbers alerted local authorities around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, reporting abandoned skis in the area. A helicopter team from Air Zermatt was dispatched and located the bodies during a search operation.
According to Canton Valais Police:

Three bodies were found on an avalanche cone

Two additional victims were discovered higher up on the snowfield
🔍 Investigation Underway
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
