ZERMATT, SWITZERLAND โ May 25, 2025 โ Tragedy has struck the Swiss Alps as five skiers were found dead on the Adler Glacier near Zermatt, one of Switzerlandโs most renowned ski resorts.
๐จ Victims Discovered After Search Near Rimpfischhorn Mountain
The discovery was made after two climbers alerted local authorities around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, reporting abandoned skis in the area. A helicopter team from Air Zermatt was dispatched and located the bodies during a search operation.
According to Canton Valais Police:

Three bodies were found on an avalanche cone

Two additional victims were discovered higher up on the snowfield

๐ Investigation Underway
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims. The Public Prosecutorโs Office has opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
